Big Conference clashes live on BT Sport to add to Christmas cheer

BT Sport has announced four more exclusively live matches from the Skrill Conference Premier, including big matches on Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.

Leaders Cambridge United are at home to Braintree Town, kicking off at noon on Boxing Day.

The U’s, who have made a superb start to the season, especially at the R Costings Abbey Stadium, will be looking to build on their lead at the top of the table with a home tie against Braintree, who are currently in the play-off places under manager and ex-West Ham star Alan Devonshire.

The game is the first part of an incredible feast of football on BT Sport on Boxing Day. At 3pm, there is exclusively live Barclays Premier League action with West Ham v Arsenal, followed by Manchester City v Liverpool at 5.30pm.

On New Year’s Day at noon, BT Sport has exclusively live coverage from Kenilworth Road as Luton play host to Edgar Davids’ Barnet. Player coach and former Dutch international Davids will be hoping for no repeat of his antics against Wrexham in his last BT Sport live match, when he was sent off.

Again, BT Sport follows up that thrilling action from the top half of the Skrill Conference Premier League, with riveting action from the Barclays Premier League. Southampton v Chelsea will follow at 3pm, with the huge fixture Manchester United v Tottenham Hotspur at 5.30pm.

BT Sport will be showing two more exclusively live games before the turn of the year. Grimsby Town host high-flying Kidderminster Harriers on Thursday, December 19, kick off 7.45pm. A home win would keep the Mariners in the promotion play-off places.

On December 28, BT Sport concentrates on the other end of the table as fellow strugglers Hereford United and eco-club Forest Green Rovers battle to pull well clear of the relegation zone in a game at Edgar Street. Former Forest Green boss Dave Hockaday has recently left the club by mutual consent, following a disappointing start to the season, and the hunt for a new manager is under way.

BT Sport has the rights to 30 exclusively live matches from the Skrill Football Conference Premier. In addition, it has the rights to show 38 exclusively live football matches from the Barclays Premier League, including 18 of the “top picks” for three seasons. The channels will also show live FA Cup with Budweiser matches for the next five seasons, UEFA Europa League, top tier football from Germany, Italy, France, Brazil, Australia and the USA, live coverage of the Scottish Premiership, plus action from the FA Women’s Super League.
