BT announces plans to recruit IT experts across Gloucestershire

Summary
About 60 posts in a range of technology and security specialisms need to be filled.

BT is on the look-out for IT experts across Gloucestershire who are interested in developing their career in technology and cyber security.

Around 60 jobs are available for experienced IT and security professionals specialising in areas of expertise such as network and software engineering, keeping systems secure and protected, as well as test engineering.

BT is hosting a recruitment event on Wednesday, October 12, from 3-9pm, for people wanting to find out more. It’s being held at the Holiday Inn Gloucester, in Crest Way, Barn Wood, GL4 3RX, near the M5 on the outskirts of Gloucester.

Members of BT’s recruitment team will be available to discuss opportunities, and even interview and make a job offer at the event to outstanding candidates (subject to a number of checks).

Mark Hughes, BT’s head of security, said:This is a great opportunity for anyone looking to develop their career and join a leading global company at the forefront of IT and security development. Cyber security is a rapidly growing area in which it's a battle to stay ahead of the curve.”

BT employs around 2,500 staff across the globe to defend its network and those of its customers.

As part of the current recruitment, BT is looking for people across a range of engineering roles from the more junior analyst right through to principal consultant.

The team has many responsibilities including infrastructure and system engineering, IT security, test engineering, solution design and architecture, software engineering and network engineering.

IT security roles within BT have attractive remuneration packages depending on qualifications and experience and there is plenty of opportunity for BT employees to grow and shape their careers across many different professions within the company.

Successful candidates, who need to be British nationals with 10 or more years residency in the UK, must be prepared to obtain and maintain an appropriate level of security clearance.
