BT launches ‘BT Elements 1k’ BT’s toughest phone with 1km range
BT has launched its most robust landline phone to date, perfect for outdoor use. BT Elements 1k boasts a reliable 1km range for use outdoors and is totally dustproof and waterproof up to 1m. The phone is the successor to the popular BT Elements phone. The new model also includes nuisance call blocking functionality to minimise the time wasted from unwanted calls.
The new BT Elements 1k is designed to keep customers connected both in and out of the home, whether they are a homeowner with an extensive garden taking calls and don’t want to return to the house, a farmer using the phone to take calls in the fields, or car dealership taking orders at the far end of their forecourt. The BT Elements 1k enables users to remain contactable and be able to contact others – especially when there is no or patchy mobile reception.
The BT Elements 1k is also totally dustproof offering customers the flexibility to make use of the phone in a dusty environment, whether that is a home workshop or a factory floor. Plus it can be submersed in water up to 1m meaning it can be used in a busy car wash or at bath time with the kids. This durability is reflected in the BT Elements 1k having an IP67 rating giving customers the peace of mind they will always be able to make and receive calls without worrying about damaging the phone.

With BT’s unique Nuisance Call Blocking feature customers will be able to block calls from “international” numbers, “withheld” numbers, and unknown callers. They will also have the option to put the phone into “Do Not Disturb” mode, which switches off the ringer, but can still allow contacts through that are assigned as VIPs in the contacts list. Customers can bar outgoing calls to selected numbers, such as premium rate lines, and block incoming calls from up to 10 telephone numbers.
The BT Elements 1k has all the great features of a BT home phone with high quality call clarity, an answering machine which can be accessed at home or remotely, and hands free capability. It also has the capacity to store up to 250 contacts, with 10 hours of talk time and 250 hours of battery life on standby.
