BT opens customer innovation showcase in Dubai

BT, one of the world’s leading providers of communications solutions and services, announced today the opening of a BT Customer Innovation Showcase in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, as part of its wider growth plan announced in November 2013.

The BT Customer Innovation Showcases provide an interactive experience which presents the latest innovations in networked IT services, designed to improve the efficiency of large organisations, deliver the applications critical to their success and keep their systems secure. The Showcases enable visitors not only to hear about BT capabilities, but to see, touch and feel them through live personalised demonstrations.

The BT Customer Innovation Showcase in Dubai provides live demonstrations of BT One (unified communications and collaboration services), BT Connect (network services), BT Contact (customer relationship management services), BT Assure (security services) and BT Compute (data centre and cloud services) as well as specific solutions designed for the financial and logistics industries. Dubai is the first city in the Middle East and North Africa to host a Customer Innovation Showcase with capabilities similar to the ones in Beijing, Hong Kong, Johannesburg, Kuala Lumpur, London, New York, New Delhi, Shanghai, Singapore, Sydney and Tokyo.

Edward Hobart, British Consul General to Dubai, said: “BT is a fantastic UK company with a long history of innovation. It's brilliant to see how the company is contributing to the development of new, cutting edge technologies in the networked IT services sector in the United Arab Emirates."

Wael El-Kabbany, managing director, Middle East and North Africa, BT Global Services, stated: “BT Customer Innovation Showcases provide a great environment to explore innovative services that help our customers compete in the global economy. Multinational companies headquartered in the Middle East and North Africa rely on us to help them seize opportunities elsewhere in the world, while global multinational companies with growth ambitions in this region trust our services to support their ambitions across the region. We are therefore very proud to open today the first Customer Innovation Showcase in the Middle East and North Africa region. Announced last November, we continue to accelerate our expansion in Asia Pacific, the Middle East and Africa by investing further in our capabilities, by launching new and innovative services and by forging closer partnerships with our customers. The launch of the Customer Innovation Showcase in Dubai demonstrates our commitment to the Middle East and North Africa region as a key driver of growth.”

The showcase in Dubai is networked with BT’s showcase centers in the rest of the world – thus providing remote access to BT’s community of experts globally.
