BT Sport reveals exclusively live January games

Summary

BT Sport announce their live games for the New Year

BT Sport is kicking off 2016 in style with Barclays Premier League clashes featuring the biggest clubs shown exclusively live, including the big midweek match at Anfield as Liverpool host Arsenal.

Five matches will be shown starting with West Ham United v Liverpool on the opening January weekend, followed by Newcastle United against Manchester United at St James’ Park on Tuesday, January 12th. The match kicks off at 19:45.

The following night will see Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool take on Arsenal who are chasing their first Barclays Premier League title since 2003/04. Arsenal have impressed fans and pundits alike this season and the match will kick off at 20:00 on Wednesday, January 13th.

White Hart Lane is the next destination for BT Sport on Saturday, January 16th for Tottenham Hotspur’s clash with Sam Allardyce’s Sunderland. The match will kick off at 12:45 with the home side chasing more European football while Sunderland may still be hoping to escape the bottom three.

The whole month of January will be a feast of football on BT Sport with The Emirates FA Cup Third Round matches on the weekend of the 9th and 10th. This round will also include Premier League teams for the first time as they enter along with Championship clubs to join those who’ve battled through from Round 2. Then there’s even more cup matches with the Fourth Round on the weekend of the 30th and 31st.

BT Sport’s final Barclays Premier League match in the month will be on Saturday, January 23rd, with Norwich City taking on Liverpool at Carrow Road at 12:45. The home side will be hoping to reverse recent fortunes against their opposition as they haven’t beaten them since the 1993/94 season, although they did manage a draw earlier this season at Anfield.

Simon Green, head of BT Sport, said: “January will be an exciting month for BT Sport viewers with teams fighting for their position at the top of the Barclays Premier League, as well as the Third and Fourth Rounds of the FA Cup, and all of this ahead of the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League knock-out stages starting in February.”
