BT Sport's first apprentice recruitment scheme

BT Sport’s first apprenticeship recruitment scheme is now underway and is looking for six people to work at its Olympic Park studios as apprentices.
Apprentice applicants must live in the London boroughs of Newham, Tower Hamlets, Hackney, Waltham Forest or Greenwich. They must be over 16, have been resident in the UK/EU for three years, eligible to work in the UK on a permanent basis and not have a degree, level 4 qualification or higher.
As part of the 2012 Media Legacy programme to help people access local support and opportunities, it’s offering six apprenticeships to over 16s. Apprentices will be from the London boroughs around its home at the Olympic Park.
Jamie Hindhaugh, chief operating officer of BT Sport, said: “We’re very keen to work with East London’s local community and provide this exciting career opportunity for apprentices who would relish the chance to work within TV. Our apprentices will be part of a team delivering some of the most popular TV sports in the world. Working in our digital production and media team, they’ll be at the heart of innovation, shaping the way we live and work.”
The apprenticeship lasts two years and will begin in September and October, with some later in the year. BT Sport Digital Media apprentices will be trained in the Advanced Digital Media Apprenticeship Scheme and achieve a diploma qualification at level 3, equivalent to two good A levels in one year. BT Sport apprentices will be trained in the Business Administration Apprenticeship and achieve a diploma qualification at level 3, equivalent to two good A levels in one year.
