BT TV expands HD line-up

BT has today added Discovery Channel, TLC, Animal Planet, British Eurosport and British Eurosport 2 to its high definition TV line-up. BT TV now offers up to 26 HD channels on its YouView service.

The new HD channels will be available as part of BT’s HD Extra bolt on, which remains at £3 a month and offers HD versions of most of BT’s Entertainment pack* channels plus HD versions of BT Sport 1, BT Sport 2 and ESPN.

BT TV offers customers the chance to build their own TV package made up of just the content they actually want to watch. BT’s core Entertainment pack is just £7 a month and includes 20 popular pay TV channels, such as Discovery Channel, Comedy Central and Gold. The UK’s fastest growing pay TV channel brand, Investigation Discovery, a Discovery Networks channel dedicated to crime and investigation, also joins the Entertainment pack on 27 February 2014.

Alex Green, director of TV for BT, said: “Our new HD line-up offers viewers even more of their favourite channels in fantastic HD quality. This is just the latest in a series of new content deals we are offering on BT TV.”

BT continues to offer the most comprehensive HD service on YouView, with not only its HD channels but also the ability to rent or buy HD movies following the recent announcement of BT’s new buy-to-keep service.
