Hobbs improves in-store shopping experience with new point of sale solution from BT

 Hobbs Limited, the women’s fashion retailer, has introduced a new Point of Sale (PoS) system across all of their UK and international store and concession estate provided by BT Expedite, BT’s retail specialists.

Based on BT Expedite’s Store 6.3, the new PoS system supports an omnichannel customer experience providing Hobbs with product info, customer details, real-time pricing and stock visibility.

Hobbs was under pressure to replace its existing PoS structure to meet the growing needs of its business. The retailer required a new system to improve business processes, streamline payments in store, and be flexible and scalable to meet future demands. Additionally the solution had to be delivered within to a very tight timescale.

Through a collaborative approach and understanding of the business objectives, BT Expedite was able to quickly create, refine and test the changes and configuration that Hobbs needed. BT Expedite designed and implemented an improved PoS system with all the required back-end integration, including tax free shopping, ‘HHT What is this?’ stock retrieval (mobile hand held terminals) and a managed payment service, without impacting the in-store payment process. The full implementation, from design to completion of rollout, was achieved in less than six months.
