New business launched to help Cheshire and Warrington firms make the most of new technology

More than 15,000 small and medium businesses across Cheshire and Warrington set to benefit

A new business will be launched next month to help small firms across Warrington and Cheshire harness the benefits of faster broadband and other communications technologies. BT Local Business for Cheshire and Warrington – a small business specially licensed to sell products and services under the BT brand – has a 17-strong team of advisors at its new offices in Winwick Quay, Warrington.

It is run by Kevin Cheston and Dave Everest, who between them have more than 42 years’ experience of working in the communications industry.
Kevin, the managing director, said: “As businesses emerge from the economic downturn, the importance of getting your communications right has never been more critical.

“The rollout of super-fast fibre broadband across our region is a major boost for small and medium-sized businesses because it enables them to do so many different things more quickly and easily than ever before, whether it’s sharing information with suppliers or keeping in contact with their customers.

“Getting the right communications for business people when they’re out and about is another area that we think will be of interest.

“We can offer a wealth of experience and skills to help customers decide what information and communications products and services can meet all their business needs.
“If we’re successful we hope to expand our team in the future.”
The BT Local Business will cover: Northwich, Winsford, Nantwich and Crewe, to Altrincham, Knutsford, Congleton, Alderley Edge, Wilmslow, Macclesfield and across to Marple, Stockport, and over the border to Glossop and Buxton in Derbyshire.

It will trade as 21st Telecom and is one of a network of 41 BT Local Businesses around the UK licensed to exclusively sell BT products and services.
Kevin added: “The BT Local Business concept works well because local small businesses often like to work with other small businesses, but in our case they have the added benefit of knowing we’re supported by the BT brand.”
