Senior BT Human Resources executive joins BT East of England board, with responsibility for Norfolk.

John McGee has been appointed as a new member of the BT East of England board, with responsibility for Norfolk. As well as the board membership, he will continue in his current role as an employee relations director in BT.

John has worked for BT for just over 26 years, and has carried out a variety of jobs in that time, including roles in customer service, a period as a full-time trade union representative and various roles in human resources since moving there 15-years ago.

John, 47 lives in Downham Market with his wife and two children. He moved to Norfolk from London ten years ago after being attracted to the thought of being able to carry out his job whilst living in the countryside.

John said: “My ability to move to Norfolk was enabled by the availability of broadband, which meant that I could work from home on occasions and be more flexible in the way I carried out my job. I have performed a variety of jobs during my time with BT and been fortunate enough to learn new skills and progress to a senior management position.

“I’m very much looking forward to the opportunity of promoting Norfolk as much as possible within my new role on BT’s regional board.”
