The partnership will help Scottish Water improve visibility across its network, respond more quickly to issues and strengthen the resilience of services relied on by households, businesses and communities nationwide.

Scottish Water is a publicly-owned utility responsible for delivering water supply services to about 2.6 million households and 150,000 business properties, supporting a population of more than 5 million people across Scotland.

The multi-million pound agreement with BT forms part of a wider £130 million Scottish Water investment programme in networks and security services. It will see BT take end-to-end responsibility for Scottish Water’s extensive connectivity and security estate, spanning both IT and operational technology environments. This includes managing approximately 7,000 network connections across broadband, MPLS, satellite and internet services, alongside a large-scale operational technology network critical to delivering essential water services across Scotland.

A step-change in how critical services are delivered

Scottish Water’s decision reflects a shift away from a traditional multi-supplier model towards a single, integrated approach, with BT bringing those capabilities together to improve visibility, support faster incident resolution and create a simpler operating model for essential services.

BT’s solution centres on a converged Network Operations Centre (NOC) and Security Operations Centre (SOC), bringing network monitoring and cyber security together into a single, real-time operational model – supporting Scottish Water’s long-term digital ambitions.

For customers, this means strengthening the technology that helps keep essential water services running reliably in the background. By giving Scottish Water better visibility across its infrastructure and the ability to identify and respond to issues more quickly, the partnership will help reduce delays in resolving faults, strengthen protection for critical systems and support more dependable services for homes, businesses and communities across Scotland.

Local delivery, national impact

A key element of BT’s successful bid was its strong local presence in Scotland, combined with its ability to deliver at national scale. BT will provide a locally based team working closely with Scottish Water, ensuring faster decision-making, stronger collaboration, and deeper alignment with the organisation’s operational priorities.

The partnership also includes a commitment to delivering social value across Scotland, with a focus on supporting local employment, skills development and community engagement. Together, these commitments help show how the programme will benefit people and places across Scotland, not just the technology estate behind the scenes.

As Scottish Water continues to deliver its long-term vision for a resilient, sustainable and innovative water sector that contributes to Scotland’s journey towards net zero, the partnership with BT provides a flexible foundation that can evolve alongside these ambitions.

Chris Toop, Scottish Water’s Director of Digital & Innovation, said: "This strategic partnership between Scottish Water and BT is an important step in our digital journey. By working with BT, we are strengthening the technology foundations that support every part of our business. Together, we'll deliver more resilient, secure and efficient digital services that enable us to better serve our customers, support our colleagues and meet the challenges of the future."

Ishbell MacPhail, Head of BT Business, Scotland: “We’re proud to be working with Scottish Water to help keep essential water services running smoothly for millions of people across Scotland. By bringing together BT’s nationwide network, security expertise and local Scottish teams, we’ll help make the services people rely on every day be more resilient, responsive and ready for the future.

It’s about using technology to support better, more dependable services for homes, businesses and communities across Scotland.”

business,Scotland

Home to around 1,000 colleagues from across BT’s Consumer and Business divisions, the flagship 24/7 site houses teams who help customers right across the UK.

The new building, first announced by the company in July 2020, forms part of Dundee’s £1bn regeneration area, and is located at West Marketgait, in the heart of the city centre, close to the waterfront.

The building joins Glasgow as one of BT Group’s strategic locations in Scotland, developed as part of its Better Workplace Programme – the largest workplace improvement and consolidation scheme of its type ever undertaken in the UK. In September 2023, the group also completed its multi-million pound refurbishment of its Glasgow office, situated on the Clydeside, where around 2,000 people are based.

The First Minister met with BT teams who are helping businesses to upgrade their connectivity and digitise their operations, colleagues who handle operator assistance and directory enquiry calls, and 'guides’ who take orders for BT’s consumer fibre broadband and mobile services.

The First Minister also heard about the company’s apprenticeship programme, with a new local cohort due to start in March. The company is also recruiting for full-time roles in its sales teams in Dundee, working in partnership with local schools and Discover Work Dundee, who offer assistance to those seeing employment.

First Minister John Swinney said: “The opening of this new office is an important moment in Dundee's remarkable economic transformation, reflecting Scotland's commitment to digital innovation, growth, and opportunity. BT's decision to invest in Dundee is a powerful statement of confidence in the city and Scotland. It secures around 1,000 local jobs, providing good opportunities for apprentices and workers to develop their skills and drive forward their careers.

“The Scottish Government's approach is clear. We are actively creating the conditions for businesses to invest, grow and succeed. Through initiatives like the Tay Cities Region Deal – investing £150 million, over ten years – we're supporting innovation, skills development, and economic growth, all of which come together in this new office development.”

Allison Kirkby, Chief Executive, BT Group, said: “As one of the largest private sector employers in Scotland I’m excited to see our Dundee office open for business. Our investment in this state-of-the-art office will help us to retain and attract the best people as we transform BT to give better service to our customers, while supporting the broader regeneration of Dundee.

“We’re also continuing to make major investments in Scotland’s networks, with more than half of Scotland now able to get full fibre from Openreach, and three quarters of the population covered by 5G from EE. We’re working closely with our partners in government to ensure we maximise the potential for these networks to create new possibilities for the public and private sectors, and support the economic success of the nation.”

In May 2022, Kate Forbes, Scottish Government’s Cabinet Secretary for Finance and Economy at that time, visited the site to mark the start of construction work on the project. The investment in the new Dundee office will help to transform the way BT Group works, create efficiencies and enable it to better serve its customers in Scotland and across the UK. The company’s former office in Dundee, which opened in 1976 on Ward Road, closed last year.

BT Group employs more than 7,000 colleagues across Scotland, ensuring homes, businesses, government and the NHS are connected to broadband and mobile services, from the smallest communities and islands to the nation’s towns and cities.

The company plays an important role in the Scottish economy and is responsible for generating £1 in every £130 produced in the country, according to an independent report. It also generated £1.3 billion to the economy of Scotland in “Gross Value Added” (GVA), during the 2023/24 financial year.* In total, BT Group supports more than 11,700 jobs across the nation.

Marking the opening of the new office, attendees were treated to a beautiful performance by young musicians from Big Noise Douglas, a music education and social change programme delivered by the charity Sistema Scotland. Launched in the Douglas area of Dundee in 2017, it currently works with around 600 members, ranging from babies to S3 pupils, helping youngsters to develop confidence, teamwork, resilience, pride and aspiration as well as the capacity to work hard, supporting them to reach their full potential.

Case Studies of local employees who have worked with BT since the 1980s:

Donna Johnstone and Helen Crossan, both operator services call handlers at BT in Dundee, have heard it all in their career.

In 1984, while Stevie Wonder topped the charts singing ‘I just called to say I love you’ and the iconic red phone box had starred in Local Hero, Donna picked up her first call at BT's Dundee exchange. Four years later, in 1988, Helen joined her at the switchboard, marking the beginning of a partnership that would span four decades of Britain's telecommunications history.

Between them, they've connected millions of calls - from urgent emergencies to late-night revellers seeking taxis, from excited Valentine's Day flower orders to the dark days of grief and loss.

Donna Johnstone explains: “When I started in 1984, we took calls to the Operator on old, corded switchboards. It was quite noisy - pulling the cords down, untangling answering cords from calling cords. It was like spaghetti junction! You had to be careful with the brass circuits - if you missed, it would spark!”

Helen Crossan continues: "We started with paper books in directory enquiries - huge heavy phone directories which you’d lift onto your desk. By the end of a shift our hands would be black with ink from the print. Then came microfiche, and then gigantic computers. But despite all the changes in technology, we're still doing the same job - looking for numbers to connect.

“Nighttime was often the most interesting time to be working. I became very fluent in every dialect of drunk!”

In their time with BT, both Helen and Donna have fielded their fair share of prank calls, but also some which stick in the mind for very different reasons.

Helen Crossan recalls: "I remember my first emergency call. The red button flashing, and a buzzer would go. I was sitting, staring and my trainer saying: 'You're going to have to answer one eventually.’

“Dunblane... it was scary, you know. You would see the news coming through on the television. We had to be mindful that your colleague might have taken a difficult call. If anyone needs to talk...you talk."

Background:

The new building includes what its designers have described as a ‘street landscape,’ with areas for colleagues to socialise while enjoying great views over Dundee and the River Tay. The building is over four floors and replaces a former long-term brownfield site in the city.

Under the five-year ‘Better Workplace Programme’, first announced in 2018, BT will consolidate its UK footprint of more than 300 locations to around 30. The company has already opened many new or revamped locations including Glasgow, Belfast, Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff and is due to open its final new office in Manchester this year.

Dundee Waterfront is an award-winning £1 billion regeneration project that is transforming 240 acres of land along 8km of the River Tay. Major projects already completed include the construction of a new railway station, V&A Dundee and Agnes Husband House, the new HQ for Social Security Scotland.

*Gross Value Added (GVA) measures the value of all goods and services produced in an economy. GVA combines wages and operating profits from companies and other organisations. Growing GVA can reflect improvements in workforce skills, productivity, R&D and innovation. The figures for BT show the value added directly through BT's services and additional value generated through BT's suppliers across the nations and regions.

The full BT Economic Impact Report is available at: www.bt.com/economic-impact

bt group,Corporate,Scotland,Better Workplace Programme

Two of these were in areas which previously had no coverage on the footpath leading to the Steall Waterfall, while a further nine were on aspects of Ben Nevis where coverage has been significantly improved.

Ian Pooleman, Secretary and Medical Officer, LMRT said: “Communications play a vital role in all of our rescue operations. We primarily use VHF radios to communicate with our base and other team members on the hill. We have had communication challenges in Glen Nevis and some aspects of Ben Nevis for many years, and the opportunity to locate a ‘repeater’ on this tower, with the support of BT Group, will make our operations safer and more efficient.”

David McKean, BT Group’s Tower Division Director, said: “We’re delighted to be able to support Lochaber Mountain Rescue Team’s search and rescue efforts through the deployment of vital communications equipment on our tower at Glen Nevis. This is a simple yet effective example of how we can diversify the use of our portfolio of physical assets, many of which are in remote locations, to support the UK’s broader digital needs and connect more people for good, both now and into the future.”

Digital & Networks,Scotland,EE

Customers risk facing increased service outages if this urgent infrastructure upgrade isn’t carried out now by BT and other operators. This new future-proof, digital landline technology is also a major step towards preparing the country for a Full Fibre future, in support of the UK Government’s gigabit connectivity ambitions.

Digital Voice will have no impact on how BT customers use their home phone and will not cost any more than customers pay today. They’ll still have the same service, and price plans and bills will stay the same. In addition, more than 99% of phone handsets work with Digital Voice and for those that won’t, BT has a range of handsets that customers can order.

In support of its regional approach and building on the successful starts in the East Midlands and Yorkshire and Humberside, BT is explaining to customers the simple steps required to make the move to Digital Voice through local and regional media and advertising campaigns. BT will also have a high street presence and hold local ‘town hall’ drop-ins to answer customer questions in person.

Initially, BT won’t be proactively switching anyone who falls under the below criteria, where it has this information available:

Customers with a healthcare pendant

Customers who only use landlines

Customers with no mobile signal

Customers who have disclosed any additional needs.

Customers who fall into any of these categories should contact BT to ensure their data is up to date.

Customers over the age of 70 are not being proactively switched to Digital Voice. However, since July 2023, BT has been trialling switching customers between 70-74 who live in urban areas and are ready to make the switch, i.e. they have the latest broadband hub and are not frequent landline users. These trials have gone well to date, with 98% of customers choosing to make the switch, and pending further consultation with the Digital Voice Advisory Group, BT will look to extend this trial nationally.

Lucy Baker MBE, All-IP Director, BT Consumer, said: “Through the work with our Digital Voice Advisory Group and our regional engagement, we’ve held 40 events, placed local radio and newspaper ads and met over 4,000 customers in person.

“We understand that any change can be unsettling, and we’re here to support our customers every step of the way. As a key location in the company’s future plans, the significant refurbishment has created a fantastic, modern workplace, which will now be home to around 2,000 colleagues from BT Group, which includes EE, BT and Openreach.

The official reopening of the building also coincides with the launch of the new Scottish Wide Area Network (SWAN) contract. BT Group, which is now the sole connectivity provider for public sector organisations including schools, hospitals, GP surgeries, pharmacies and councils across Scotland, has launched services for members as well as a new website www.swan.scot which includes an informative video.

Glasgow was named as a significant long-term location for BT Group in 2020 as part of the company’s ‘Better Workplace Programme’ – the largest workplace improvement and consolidation scheme of its type ever undertaken in the UK. The five-year programme, which will be complete next year, is seeing BT Group rationalise hundreds of its offices across the UK and establish an estate of modern workspaces. The group is also undertaking a multi-million pound development of its new contact centre in Dundee.

The Clydeside building, with panoramic views of the waterfront, is close to transport hubs including Glasgow Central Station, as well as providing cycle parking for colleagues. It boasts state of the art technology, flexible work and collaboration areas, wellbeing and relax and refuel areas. These shared workplaces are central to the company’s future, providing environments for colleagues to come together to collaborate, learn, develop and share their experiences. BT Group believes that inspiring office environments, combined with a flexible approach to home working, will play a vital role in its future and in the local economies of its key hub locations.

Commenting on the official opening, Richard Lochhead MSP, Minister for Small Business, Innovation, Tourism and Trade, said: “I warmly welcome BT Group’s continued investment in Scotland and congratulate it on the official reopening of Alexander Bain House. As a major employer in the city, our presence will support local economic growth and employment opportunities. It also demonstrates our continued commitment to leading the way in connecting Scotland, unlocking a new era of connectivity with the launch of the SWAN website and services.”

Councillor Susan Aitken, Leader of Glasgow City Council, said: “Glasgow is one of the UK’s most successful centres to do business, with an increasing international profile and reputation as a leader in attracting and retaining talent and a skilled workforce.

“This multi-million-pound investment by BT Group in its Glasgow HQ really enhances our competitiveness, adding real value to our city and its economy.

“BT Group’s original decision over 20 years ago to locate a major headquarters in Glasgow was a real vote of confidence in a changing city. This latest investment by a truly global organisation reaffirms that commitment and it’s clear that BT Group appreciates the value of its long-term presence in our city.”

The business is also making record investments in next generation networks, such as full-fibre broadband via Openreach and 5G via its mobile network EE. Through the company’s employees and its supply chain, and their subsequent spending, Hatch estimates the resulting boost to the Scottish economy came to a total of £1.5 billion.

The company’s spending with suppliers based in Scotland came to a total of £190 million. According to the study, BT Group’s combined activities supported a knock-on total of 14,900 jobs across Scotland.

The report highlights BT Group’s presence across Scotland and its current major investment in the rollout of full-fibre broadband and 5G across the country. It also profiles the range of activities by BT Group colleagues across the UK, from the volunteers helping care home residents avoid isolation and loneliness, to the teams protecting customers and the country from cyber threats.

BT Group is also transforming its offices and contact centres across the UK and has already announced plans to open a brand new contact centre on Dundee’s waterfront which will become home to around 1,000 colleagues and is currently carrying out a multi-million pound refurbishment of its Glasgow office which will also house about 1,000 colleagues.

It is part of the company’s Better Workplace Programme, one of the largest workplace improvement schemes of its type ever undertaken in the UK. The five-year programme will see the company shift from having around 300 locations in the UK to around 30, with a focus on creating new, modern workspaces.

Philip Jansen, Chief Executive of BT Group, said: “BT Group plays a vital role at the heart of the Scottish economy. We're one of only a handful of companies that serves customers in every corner of the country.

“We've continued our major investment in building next generation full fibre and mobile connectivity rapidly across the UK. We've already reached 9.6 million premises with full fibre, and our 5G mobile network now reaches 60% of the UK population. The benefits to families and businesses are huge: new jobs, economic growth and innovation, across every nation and region.

“We’re also transforming BT Group so that we’re fit to power the Scottish economy of the future. Our new state-of-the-art offices, spread across the UK, are a central part of that, bringing colleagues together in brilliant spaces that will enable collaboration and help us to better serve our customers.”

The Group, via its digital network business Openreach, is already delivering ultrafast full-fibre broadband across Scotland while its mobile business EE is a leader on mobile coverage. EE’s 5G network is across many cities, towns and now expanding to rural communities, while 4G mobile coverage is at 75% of Scotland’s landmass. A series of new innovations that will boost the range, resilience and energy efficiency of mobile connectivity in the years ahead have also been unveiled.

5G rollout windfall for rural communities

EE’s 5G network, which already reaches nearly every major UK town and city as well as over 60% of the population, is now expanding into more rural populations. Nearly 500 smaller communities, including Church Stretton and Birkenshaw in England, Llandeilo and Pen-y-banc (Carmarthenshire) in Wales and Tayport and Ratho in Scotland, now have their first 5G signal from EE, bringing the total number of UK cities, towns and villages where customers can access EE 5G to over 1,000.

As part of the rollout, EE’s 5G is also reaching National Parks and popular rural tourist destinations. Among seasonal hotspots seeing a 5G boost are Berwick-upon-Tweed and Windermere in England, Brecon (Aberhonddu), Dolgellau (Gwynedd) and Narberth (Pembrokeshire) in Wales, and Fort William in Scotland. The Brecon Beacons, Pembrokeshire Coast and The Broads are also named as the first National Parks to be getting the technology, which will deliver better performance and connectivity for residents, businesses and visitors. The investment in rural coverage is part of a commitment to deliver an EE 5G solution anywhere in the UK by 2028.

Technological innovation drives network improvements

BT Group has announced it is testing a range of innovative technologies to boost the range, reliability and energy efficiency of its networks. These include:

UK’s first 4G sent over low earth orbit satellite: BT Group has partnered with OneWeb to achieve the first transmission of 4G data using a low Earth orbit (LEO) satellite link to connect an EE mast to the mobile core network, instead of a traditional line of sight microwave or fibre connection. This paves the way for connecting small ultra-remote communities, emergency responders and disaster recovery units and other temporary deployments like festivals, events or construction sites.

Mobile coverage in harder to reach areas: In collaboration with Stratospheric Platforms Ltd (SPL), BT Group is running a trial that aims to deliver mobile coverage from the air using a ‘High Altitude Platform’ (HAPS) system being tested at BT’s Global innovation centre (Adastral Park). This has the potential to unlock connectivity for the most remote areas.

Self-powering sites: EE is weeks away from launching its first self-powering mast using sustainable energy, in Wales’ Elan Valley. Initial assessments demonstrate that local sourced renewable energy (wind and solar) can contribute up to 90% of the site’s requirements.

Biofuels phase-in: Trials are commencing to test the use of biofuels like Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO), Biogas and Hydrogen in network generators to support wider resilience. EE will initially implement the solutions as a trial across 20 physical sites.

Underlying 4G leadership the key to a quicker rollout

EE has also revealed that its 4G network is on track to pass 90% of the UK’s geographic landmass by the mid-2020s thanks in part to the huge investment made in network infrastructure in line with its commitment to the Shared Rural Network (SRN). EE’s founding 4G network stretches more than 2,500 square miles further than the nearest challenger, with new 4G coverage added to nearly 50 locations every single month over the past three years. The network expects its landmark 1,500th upgrade under the SRN as early as next month.

Wi-Fi coverage boost to mobile signal

EE’s Wi-Fi coverage boost, which launched last year, offers customers access to more than 150,000 Wi-Fi hotspots, all based in rural or indoor locations. Customers have already downloaded more than 350TB of accumulative data using the new feature – equivalent to streaming HD television continuously for 13 years - in areas where it wasn’t previously achievable.

Howard Watson, Chief Security and Networks officer, BT Group, said: “The network rollout progress announced today is a critical step toward meeting our goal of enabling a 5G connection anywhere in the UK by 2028. The strength of our underlying 4G network, thanks in part to improvements made under the Shared Rural Network, has put us in the best position to make widespread 5G coverage improvements outside of big cities. Speaking as a technologist, I’m proud of the way BT Group is applying new innovations to reduce the digital divide.”

About EE

EE runs the UK's biggest and fastest mobile network, offering superfast connections in more places than any other operator. However, almost half (49 per cent) said that cost was a major obstacle to them investing in local Out Of Home (OOH) advertising. We hope that, by gifting free digital advertising space via our new Street Hub units, we can give small businesses in Glasgow an extra boost as high streets spring back to life. Our new Street Hub units can play a vital role in helping small firms to bounce back – whether that’s through building greater awareness of their business through free advertising, or by rejuvenating the high street by boosting local digital infrastructure.”

The new digital units can also help local councils achieve their social and economic improvement and sustainability goals. For example, around COP26, Glasgow City Council used their free screen time on the Street Hub units to raise awareness of key messages and events.

With nearly two thirds of all local authorities aiming to become carbon neutral by 2030, each Street Hub 2.0 unit can be fitted with air quality and CO2 sensors. Another student enjoyed the Safari experience, saying “It was so cool to see the animals so close up.”

The concept aims to push beyond traditional methods of teaching to create an inclusive digital experience that helps explain abstract and challenging concepts through a 3D model. It will also have the potential to support students with learning difficulties in developing imagination, creative and critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

“The immersive classroom goes beyond the traditional classroom boundaries,” explained Councillor Frank McNally, Convener of Education and Families with North Lanarkshire Council.

“Its potential uses really are limitless and we hope that it can be used to engage pupils who are perhaps turned-off by traditional learning experiences as well as by local community groups for example historical societies.

“This project shows that North Lanarkshire is at the cutting edge in terms of technology and connectivity and demonstrates our commitment to providing our pupils with outstanding learning opportunities.”

Alan Lees, Director of BT’s Enterprise unit in Scotland, said: “Today’s announcement is just the start of an exciting journey in bringing the digital fabric to more communities across Scotland through innovative tech and ultrafast connectivity. By harnessing the power of 5G, we’ve been able to help transform education for students in North Lanarkshire, supporting aims to reduce the attainment gap. We know that technology can help to make education richer and more accessible for young people. We’re really excited to be partnering with the Council to use our ultrafast 5G network to provide a UK first in education, right here in Scotland.

“Our Skills for Tomorrow programme aims to give 10 million people and businesses the skills they need to thrive in a digital world. We’ll continue to deliver innovative solutions through our unique partnerships to help our customers and society take full advantage of cutting-edge technologies.”

Scotland

With 100% of our frontline people based across many sites in the UK and Ireland, we have been able to maintain resilience in the face of the Coronavirus crisis where others have not. And that has helped us keep our customers connected when they need it most to employment, education, entertainment – all of which drove a surge in demand for connectivity triggered by the first lockdown last March – and, most importantly, to each other.

So, what has that enabled us to do over the past year?

From Dundee to Plymouth, Sheffield to Glasgow, and Merthyr to Enniskillen we employ more than 11,000 customer service advisors. Between them, they have answered 34 million calls in the past 12 months alone. That’s down from 38 million the previous year because we are better placed to help our customers when they first call, reducing the number of times they need to pick up the phone to get in touch.

And they haven’t stopped there. Colleagues up and down the country have taken the opportunity to get involved their local communities to make a difference and support those who have been worst hit by effects of the pandemic. Our Care Home Companion initiative was born out of our contact centre in Darlington, with my colleagues using their professional communication skills and volunteering time to have regular conversations care home residents isolated by the pandemic feel less lonely.

We are now rolling Care Home Companion out across the country, with calls happening in Gosforth, Darlington, North Tyneside, Sheffield and Leeds. Our people have already made 2,000 calls – each one an important social lifeline to a member of their community. And new partnerships are underway in Middlesbrough, South Shields and Enniskillen, with 600 colleagues volunteering to get involved.

We have also made huge improvements in the way we handle issues when things go wrong*. We have reduced the number of Ofcom complaints so that we are consistently below industry average. And all while customer usage has doubled on our fixed network. A great example of that is the average household using more than 50% more data YoY to 15GB across Christmas and Boxing Day in 2020 – enough to stream 5,000 films on Netflix. They are there when you need them most. On Christmas Day last year, for example, my BT and EE call centre colleagues helped nearly 9,000 customers.

We have come a long way in a short time. We know our customers value speaking to someone who understands their issue down to the regional differences that make us so great as a country, whether that’s expert help with tech or chat about the local football team. Now our customers can be called ‘Duck’ in Sheffield, ‘La’ in Liverpool and ‘Pet’ in Newcastle.

This level of personal and local support is important for every customer but no more so than the many vulnerable customers and their carers that we serve. And that brings me back to what a lifeline our people have been for our customers during the pandemic.

Coronavirus continuity

When the world changed for us all last spring, we were able to meet the enormous technical, logistical, and regulatory challenges that arise in giving such a large number of our people the option of home working. We could only do that because 100% of our frontline people are based across many sites in the UK and Ireland, not only keeping our people safe, but also enabling us to maintain our customer service continuity. Our people showed amazing resilience and we completed a massive logistical challenge to equip every colleague who wanted to work from home with the technology, security and equipment to do so. I couldn’t be prouder of how my colleagues rose to this challenge, keeping our customers connected with the help they need so they don’t have to leave their homes. They are all walking, talking examples of BT’s ambition to connect for good.

Marc Allera, CEO, BT’s Consumer brands

Follow me on Twitter and Instagram at @marcallera

*Complaint handling complaints have reduced from 1,168 per 100k to 922 per 100k

People blog,marc allera,bt,EE,Consumer,bt contact centre,contact centre,customer service,bt customer service,England,Wales,Scotland
