BT appoints Chet Patel to lead Continental European operations

BT today announced the appointment of Chet Patel to lead its Continental European operations with a focus on driving sustainable growth. He will report to BT’s CEO of Global Services, Luis Alvarez, and will start in the role on March 1.

BT has been operating in Continental Europe since 1980.It employs around 7,200 people across key European business hubs, using 18 data centres, 1,000 network points of presence and 30 city fibre networks to serve many of the world’s best-known multinational companies and government institutions.

Chet Patel has been BT’s president for Global Portfolio & Marketing for the past 18 months, responsible for the products and services which support the company’s global growth plans and play an influential role with BT’s largest global customers.

Chet has more than 22 years of experience in the telecoms and IT sectors. He joined BT as a graduate and has a track record of success in prominent commercial and turnaround roles across the Group’s Consumer, Wholesale, Ventures and Global Services divisions.

Chet has an MBA from the Henley Management College and a BA (Hons) degree in Economics and Politics from Leeds University.
