EE continue to grow its 4G network in Wales with dedicated site for the Royal Welsh Show

EE today (Friday, 15th July) activated a new permanent 4G mobile mast in Llanelwedd, in time for the Royal Welsh Show. The new mast will provide enhanced 4G mobile coverage for visitors attending the prestigious event, as well as the local community living and working in close proximity to the site.

The new permanent EE mast will improve mobile coverage and increase capacity at the Royal Welsh Show to manage the high mobile data demands of the expected 240,000 visitors using their smartphones. It will also add even more superfast 4G coverage to the local community in Llanelwedd. EE, which merged with BT earlier this year, has an ambition to connect 95% of the UK landmass by 2020.

“It’s great to hear that EE are providing permanent 4G connection at the Royal Welsh Show. I’m pleased that the Welsh Government have been able to facilitate discussions which will enable the local community and visitors to benefit from improved network coverage. This is a further boost for the area which already has access to superfast broadband thanks to Superfast Cymru.”
