Joris Van Oers appointed CEO BT Benelux
BT today announced the appointment of Joris van Oers to head its Benelux operations. Joris will be in charge of BT's business in the Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg.
Joris van Oers has a strong background in the telecom and IT industry. He started his career at KPN where he held a number of senior positions until 2009. Most recently he was managing director of KPN’s corporate solutions division, responsible for ICT integration and outsourcing projects. He was also in charge of Sympac, at the time part of KPN’s international mobile division.

Joris van Oers joins BT from De Telefoongids Holding B.V., where he was Chief Executive Officer. De Telefoongids Holding BV is the Dutch branch of European Directories, where he was also part of the executive committee. European Directories S.A. (EDSA) is a local search and lead generation company with operations in six European countries.

In the Benelux, BT aims to be the leading communication partner for multinationals, government agencies, and large local enterprises. BT has more than 20 years of local experience in the Benelux and provides a broad services portfolio, including networked IT services, professional services, and wholesale services. BT operates more than 5,700 km of fibre network in the Netherlands and a 1,100 km fibre backbone in Belgium. It also has a Network Operations Centre in Amsterdam and dual-data centre capability in the Netherlands as well as data centre capacity in Belgium. It operates from offices in Amsterdam, Brussels and Luxembourg.
Joris’s appointment will be effective on September 1 and he will replace Edwin Hageman, who has decided to pursue other opportunities.
